At Club Med, we are proud to provide all-inclusive quality vacations for people with disabilities in the Caribbean. Everyone can enjoy the most romantic getaway with the delight of turquoise waters, amazing services, activities and food at our white-sand beaches resorts!
ACCESSIBLE ROOMS
Club Med is committed to providing access to as many guests as possible. We provide accommodations in select room categories for our guests with mobility restrictions or special requirements. Additionally, all Club Med resorts have a committed team of highly experienced GO's who will ensure your every need is met and that your vacation is relaxing and enjoyable!
RESORT ACCOMMODATIONS
Wheelchair users are accommodated with ramps and lifts situated throughout select Club Med resorts. Accommodations for guests with mobility restrictions include wider clearance on doorways, bathroom rails, lowered light switches & faucets, bathroom benches and more. Most of our resorts are equipped to provide you with the perfect Caribbean vacation where you and your loved one can relax in the sun along with the world-class services and amenities of Club Med.
Club Med Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
NO. OF ROOMS FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED:
2 rooms in total, on the sea side of the building comprising a bedroom and separate lounge, and a double balcony (11sqm/118sq ft.). One can be occupied by 2 people and the other one by 3 people. These rooms are located on the ground floor at the center of the Resort, with step-free access to the communal areas. They have lower bed, closed captioning on televisions, closed captioning decoders, digital alarm clock and a vibrating pad or strobe light. Portable ramps can be provided upon request for these rooms.
BATHROOM FACILITIES:
Our bathrooms feature rails/ramps/handle bars, height adjusted switches & faucets, a roll in shower (accessible with wheelchair), lower counters and mirror, lower door handle and towel racks, lower sinks and a hand held portable shower head. The bathroom has wide doors and raised toilet seats.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACCESSIBLE BY WHEELCHAIRS:
All restaurants (Samana, Hispaniola) and all bars (Cielo, Indigo, Beach Lounge and Hibiscus Bar & Lounge) as well as La Cave, are accessible by wheelchairs. They don’t offer braille menus.
WHEELCHAIR(S) AVAILABLE:
We have one wheelchair available in the resort. Two can be rented from outside with beach wheelchairs as well.
GENERAL:
We have a ramp near by the reception, as well as in the entrance restaurant Hispaniola, at the Exclusive Collection space Tiara, in the Samana restaurant main entrance, at the Theater, the Zen Oasis and the Spa. We provide wider clearance on doorways throughout the resort. The beach, the swimming pool, meeting rooms, the concierge desk/reception, and exercise and wellness spa sections are easily accessible. There are no parking spaces for disabled. Public restrooms in the lobby near by the Cielo bar are tailored to accommodate physically-challenged persons.
Club Med Cancun, Mexico
NO. OF ROOMS FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED:
2 rooms in total located on the ground floor of the Topacio building near the center of the resort and the main swimming pool. These newly renovated rooms have a view of our tranquil lagoon. They feature twin beds that can be zipped together, height adjusted switches and faucets, lower bed, and portable ramps which can be provided upon request.
BATHROOM FACILITIES:
Our bathrooms feature rails, ramps, handle bars, bench, height adjusted switches and faucets, roll in shower (accessible with a wheelchair), lower mirror and door handle, lower sink and a hand held portable shower head. There is a wide bathroom door, raised toilet seats and cushioned back support.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACCESSIBLE BY WHEELCHAIRS:
All restaurants (The Hacienda, Taco Arte and The Estancia) are accessible by wheelchairs. They do not provide braille menus.
The following bars are accessible by wheelchairs: Soluna, Las Velas and Taco Arte. None have braille menus.
WHEELCHAIR(S) AVAILABLE:
We have 4 wheelchairs available in the resort. We don’t provide beach wheelchairs.
GENERAL:
There are lifts in the Aguamarina & Hacienda space with braille elevator for Hacienda. We have wider clearance on doorways throughout the resort. The main beach, swimming pool and the Aguamarina swimming pool are easily accessible. Meeting rooms, concierge desk/reception, exercise and wellness spa facilities are easily accessible as well. We provide parking spaces for disabled and visual alarms throughout the resort for hearing impaired. Public restrooms in Aguamarina, Taco Arte, Estancia are tailored to accommodate physically-challenged persons.
The following places in the resort have access ramps: La Estancia Restaurant, Taco Arte Restaurant, Between the Theatre and the kiosk, Las Velas Bar and La Creperie, the Club Med Boutique, La Isla (where archery, trapeze, petanque and Passworld are located), the main beach, the Sailing space.
Club Med Turkoise, Turks & Caicos
NO. OF ROOMS FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED:
4 rooms in total, conveniently located on the ground floor of building A, close to the resort’s communal areas. All rooms have a garden view and all the necessary facilities for people with restricted mobility, like height adjusted switches & faucets.
BATHROOM FACILITIES:
2 bathrooms out of 4 feature a bench for the shower, height adjusted switches & faucets, a roll in shower (accessible with a wheelchair), lower counters, mirror, lower door handle, towel racks, lower sinks, hand held portable shower head, wide doors and raised toilet seats.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACCESSIBLE BY WHEELCHAIRS:
All restaurants (Grace Bay and Sharkies) and all bars (Blue Coral, Sharkies and the Wine Cellar) are accessible by wheelchair. They don’t have braille menus.
WHEELCHAIR(S) AVAILABLE:
We provide 1 wheelchair, for emergency use only, not for loan.
GENERAL:
You can find ramps throughout the resort, in the main restaurant, at the reception area, at the restaurant Sharkies and near the pool deck. There is a wider clearance on doorways, the beach is accessible (but we don’t provide any beach wheelchairs), there is an easy access to the swimming pool, meeting rooms and ballroom, concierge desk/reception, exercise, wellness and spa facilities. There is no parking space for disabled people in the parking lot. We have visual alarms for hearing impaired. Public restrooms in the lobby are tailored to accommodate physically-challenged persons.
Club Med Columbus Isle, Bahamas
NO. OF ROOMS FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED:
2 rooms in total, on the ground floor close to reception. We have ramps available to access the rooms and can provide 2 portable ramps upon request. We have closed captioning on smart televisions and closed captioning decoders.
BATHROOM FACILITIES:
The bathroom door has been changed for a separating curtain. The shower is easily accessible and there is a raised toilet seat. We have handle bars in the shower and next to the toilet. Counters allow wheelchairs to slide underneath. We don't offer shower chair.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACCESSIBLE BY WHEELCHAIRS:
Only The Christopher restaurant is accessible by wheelchair. It doesn’t offer braille menus.
The Verve Lounge and Luna Café, as well as the Azul bar are accessible by wheelchair.
La Pinta Beach Lounge bar is not accessible by wheelchair. None of the bars provide braille menus.

7 rooms in total conveniently located on the ground floor with a view of the gardens. They are featuring two twin lower beds or a king-size lower bed.

Our bathrooms feature rails, ramps and handle bars, a roll in shower (accessible with wheelchair), wide doors and raised toilet seats.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACCESSIBLE BY WHEELCHAIRS:
All restaurants (Pays Mêlés and L’Ô) and The L’Ô Beach Lounge bar are accessible by wheelchairs. Bars and restaurants don’t offer braille menus.
WHEELCHAIR(S) AVAILABLE:
We have 3 wheelchairs available in the resort. There are no beach wheelchairs available.
GENERAL:
We have ramps available in all common areas. We don’t have lifts in this resort but we do have wider clearance on doorways. The beach is not very accessible, but there is an easy access to the swimming pool, to meeting rooms and ballrooms, concierge desk/reception area as well as exercise, wellness and spa facilities. We also do have parking spaces for disabled and public restrooms in the lobby are tailored to accommodate physically-challenged persons.
Club Med Caravelle, Guadeloupe
NO. OF ROOMS FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED:
7 newly renovated comfortable and elegant Superior Rooms in total located on the ground floor with a view of the tropical gardens and local flora. These rooms, spread out between Basse-Terre and Marie-Galante buildings, features two twin beds adjustable to king and height adjusted switches & faucets.
BATHROOM FACILITIES:
Our bathrooms feature rails, ramps and handle bars, height adjusted switches and faucets, a roll in shower (accessible with a wheelchair), lower counters, door handle, towel racks, lower sinks, wide doors, and raised toilet seats.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACCESSIBLE BY WHEELCHAIRS:
All restaurants (The Hibiscus and The Biguine) and all bars (Mango Bar and The Colibri) are accessible by wheelchairs. They do not provide braille menus.
WHEELCHAIR(S) AVAILABLE:
One wheelchair is available at the reception. There is no beach wheelchair available.
GENERAL:
Ramps are accessible throughout the resort: at the bar, reception, restaurant, beach and beach bar. We have lifts in the resort: one for Marie Galante and one for Basse terre, not for Grande Terre and Desirade. We have one braille elevator in Marie Galante building only. The resort have wider clearance on doorways, the beach is accessible for physically impaired, there is an easy access to the swimming pool, meetings spaces and ballrooms, concierge desk/reception, exercise, wellness and spa facilities (the main area, not the deck). Our new spa, coming summer 2019, will be fully accessible. We do provide parking spots for disabled and visual alarms for hearing impaired. Public restrooms in the bars are tailored to accommodate physically-challenged persons.
