Enjoy an unforgettable experience at an all-inclusive swiss ski resort
The festival hall of the Alps
In the Eastern region of the Swiss Alps, on the southern side of the range, lies St Moritz.
Dramatic mountain peaks, sparkling glaciers, scenic valleys and alpine lakes make the Swiss Alps an iconic destination for skiers, snowboarders, hikers, nature enthusiasts and international visitors. In the cradle sits St. Moritz, a luxurious alpine town known as the birthplace of winter tourism. St. Moritz is surrounded by 88 slopes and some of the world’s best ski terrain including the areas of Corviglia, Diavolezza and Corvatsch. The town has hosted the Winter Olympics twice, is home to the Cresta Run, a world-championship bobsled run, boasts endless nordic ski trails, and has an Olympic ice rink. In addition to winter sports, visitors can enjoy hikes around the area’s picturesque lake, feast on Swiss fondue, take a dip in the natural mineral springs or sightsee while cruising aboard one of the area’s iconic mountain trains.
What To Expect In The Winter
Our must-try activities
Visit the Segantini Museum
In the late 19th century, Italian artist Giovanni Segantini became renowned for his large pastoral landscapes of the Alps. His paintings often depict common people living off of the earth–such as peasants, farmers and shepherds–or reveal the stunning beauty of Europe’s beloved mountains. The Segantini Museum is home to the most significant permanent collection of works by the great master of Alpine painting.
Funicular to the Summit of Piz Nair
The summit of Piz Nair offers one of the most breathtaking 360-degree views of the Engadin Valley and surrounding Albula Alps. This towering peak sits high above St. Moritz. Travelers can take the Chantarella-Corviglia funicular from the center of St. Moritz to the top where they can dine at a restaurant with views. Or, skiiers can enjoy the challenging but well-groomed pistes that descend from Piz Nair into the valley below
Go on a Ski Safari
The Upper Engadin area offers an enormous amount of ski terrain, including resorts in St. Moritz, Corvatsch and Corviglia. Choosing which pistes to enjoy can be difficult. But a snow safari allows enthusiasts to enjoy the best of multiple areas. Skiers will be guided to traverse roughly 40-80 km of slopes. They will visit two prominent peaks–Piz Corvatsch and Piz Nair–and admire numerous snow-covered lakes, viewpoints and glaciers along the way.
Take an Ice Bath in St. Moritz
Take a plunge into one of St. Moritz’s ice baths. These chilly pools offer both an adrenaline rush, and major health benefits. Exposure to cold causes blood vessels to dilate and circulation to improve, leading to an endorphin rush and strengthened immune system. Surrounded by snowy peaks, taking a cold bath in St. Moritz will be an unforgettable experience.
