Cookies Policy
Effective from September 2023
What is a cookie ?
When you visit the Club Med website (the “Site”), a small file called a “cookie” may be placed on your terminal (e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone) using your browser software, subject to the choices you have made concerning cookies and which you may modify at any time.) During its storage period, this file enables your terminal to be identified on future visits. Thus, each time you visit the Site, the data from your previous visit may be retained.
There are two types of cookies:
- first-party cookies, placed by Club Med for the purposes of browsing and operating the site;
- third-party cookies placed by third-party partner companies in order to identify your areas of interest and send you personalised offers. These third-party cookies are managed directly by the companies that publish them, which must also comply with data protection regulations.
Only the sender of a cookie is likely to read or modify the information contained in it.
Our use of cookies
Club Med uses cookies for the following purposes:
a) Cookies strictly necessary to provide the services requested
Club Med uses cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the services or information you have requested:
- session ID cookies for your Customer Area;
- shopping basket cookies;
- authentication cookies;
- load balancing session cookies.
These cookies, which are strictly necessary for the operation of our websites, cannot be deactivated in our systems. You can configure your browser to block or be informed of the existence of these cookies, but certain parts of the Site may be affected. These cookies do not store any personally identifying information.
b) Audience measurement cookies
Club Med uses audience measurement analysis cookies (“statistical cookies”).
The data collected by statistical cookies is not cross-referenced with other processing (or is previously anonymised) and is used solely to produce anonymous statistics.
These cookies cannot be used to track your browsing to other sites or to pinpoint your exact location.
c) Tracking and personalisation cookies
Club Med uses cookies to track and personalise the user’s browsing experience. These cookies are used to analyse, optimise and personalise your Internet browsing experience.
d) Cookies for targeted advertising
These cookies may be set on our website by our advertising partners. They may be used to establish a profile of your interests and to offer you relevant advertising on other websites. They do not store personal data directly but are based on the unique identification of your browser and Internet device. If you do not authorise these cookies, your advertising will be less targeted.
e) Social networking cookies
These cookies are activated by the social networking services that we have added to the Site to enable you to share our content with your network and acquaintances. They also enable us to track your browsing on other websites and to draw up a profile of your interests. This may have an impact on the content and messages displayed on other websites you visit. If you do not authorise these cookies, you may not be able to use or view these sharing tools.
More about cookies
From the cookies banner, which is displayed on your first visit to the Site or on each visit during private browsing, you can access the following information about the Site's cookies: the type of cookie; the editor (Club Med or its Partners); the purpose of the cookie.
How long are cookies stored?
Your choices concerning the acceptance or refusal of cookies on our platform are recorded for six months, after which you will be asked again to express your agreement, refusal or to configure the cookies.
The data collected by cookies, including browsing data, is stored for a maximum of 25 months, depending on the purpose for which it was collected.
Accept, refuse, set or delete cookies
When you first visit the Site, you will be given a general option to accept or refuse the deposit of our cookies and third-party cookies.
You can also configure your choices in detail in the “Cookie consent management” section.
You also have the option of leaving the Cookies consent banner by clicking on “Continue without accepting”, which will be equivalent to a refusal to accept cookies.
Please note that if you opt to disable cookies completely, you may not be able to use all our interactive features. Please also note that withdrawal of consent has no retroactive effect on any processing already performed.
Whatever your choice, you can delete cookies from your terminal at any time via your browser.
Each browser has its own way of setting and deleting cookies. These procedures are described in your browser’s help menu. Don’t forget that you need to set the parameters for each browser on your different terminals (tablets, smartphones, computers, etc.).
