Winter sports with beautiful views of the Alps
A cosy refuge high up in the Grandes Rousses mountains, the Alpe d’Huez Resort is an exceptional spot which guarantees unforgettable snow experiences. This renovated and expanded Club Med Resort benefits from sun-soaked ski slopes with the largest variety of altitudes in the Alps. Put on your skates and glide around the ice rink in the heart of a bustling ski resort, or try out skijoring, pulled by a horse. Enjoy a local saucisson and a glass of white wine(1) in the contemporary ambiance of the le Pic Blanc restaurant.

Ideal for first time skiing
Booked all inclusive as it was my first time skiing, and with more competent friends, and didn't want to worry about other things.Did not need to go outside resort as everything you need is within - ski rentals, instructor lessons all starting from the Ski-out area - literally ski out and back from the hotel.
Main ski areas are more into town which you have to ski down to once you have learnt. Beginners are ferried by bus the first time to the nursery slopes. No lack of food and drinks as all meals provided in main buffet restaurant popular with the many families there, or more refined restaurant upstairs with service and occasional live music.
Overall, enjoyed the club med experience and convenience which was worth the extra expense. Would recommend for beginner if value for money not an issue.

Alpes d’Huez
Holiday was lovely, but largely due to incredible weather and snow. Check in to hotel and skiing was stressful and chaotic. Better club med resorts elsewhere - they should have standardised services, but clearly not.
